Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs (ELOP)

Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs (ELOP)

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) grant provides funding for eligible TK-6th grade students to receive before and after school child care at no cost to families. Creating a safe and enriching place for children of working families to attend. In addition to the school year, the ELOP grant includes 30 non-instructional days and additional summer school programs. Here are some of the enrichment activities that ELOP offers: Homework Assistance provided by CUSD teachers, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons led by CUSD counselors, Dance, Drama, Sports, Chess, Origami and our upcoming Ukulele Club!

"Expanded Learning" means before school, after school, summer, or intersession learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of students through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. It is the intent of the Legislature that expanded learning programs are pupil-centered, results driven, include community partners, and complement, but do not replicate, learning activities in the regular schoolday and school year.
