Applications are processed in the order received, on a first come, first served basis. Although the Transportation Department will make every effort to process each application and provide every student with a bus pass, some schools have very limited bus seating capacity available. Students who do not receive a pass due to overcapacity will be placed on a wait list in the order received.

Annual Round Trip Bus Pass: $575.00 per Student*

Reduced Fare (if eligible): $300.00 per Student*

*The cost of the bus pass is adjusted on a prorated basis starting from the first business day in October and will update on the first business day of each following month. For more details, please contact the Bus Pass Office.

 

To qualify for a Free or Reduced Fare bus pass, families must be income eligible. Families can apply for a Free or Reduced Fare bus pass by submitting a meal application through the Capistrano Unified Food and Nutrition Services Department website. If approved, log in to your SchoolCafe account to download your award letter, which is required in order to apply a bus pass. Once we reach your application in our processing queue, you will receive an email with further instructions (allow up to 4 weeks). At that time, you will be required to submit payment and/or your student’s lunch award letter (if applicable). Please be sure to watch for the follow-up email. You will have five (5) business days to respond. If we do not receive your response within that time frame, your application will be cancelled.

 

Additional Information:
* All bus pass applications undergo a review and are subject to changes or cancellation. If a district bus stop is not available, the bus pass application will be cancelled and parent notified via email. 

* CUSD does not offer bus service for School of Choice. Parents must transport.
