School Capacity Analysis (2026-27)

Purpose of the School Capacity and Consolidation Committee (SCCC)
On December 16, 2020, the Board approved revisions to Board Policy 7100, Determining Needs, to develop criteria for annual reviews of school capacity. Based on the California Department of Education Best Practices, a DAC will study school capacity data, gather facts, and bring a recommendation for future school capacity.

On May 13, 2024, the DAC delivered a final report and recommendation.

The SCCC will review challenges and needs specifically surrounding school facilities and capacity. Based on the California Department of Education Best Practices, the makeup of the SCC will include members of the community and District staff. This committee will be independent of the Board of Trustees and the Superintendent.
Future committee meetings

Future committee meetings

Due to scheduling conflicts, previously scheduled SCCC meetings will be postponed until January 2027. Updated meeting dates and information will be shared with families and posted on the District’s SCCC webpage once the new schedule is finalized.

We encourage families, staff, and community members to stay informed by reviewing committee materials, watching meeting recordings, and following updates on this webpage. We will continue to communicate with our community as the committee’s work progresses.

Thank you for your continued engagement and partnership in supporting CUSD students and schools.
