What is COBRA coverage?
- Federal law for temporarily continuing health benefits
- Lasts up to 18 or 36 months (based on qualifying event), or when the participant turns 65, whichever comes first
- Each participant (employee and dependents) may enroll separately in the offered plans
- COBRA terminates at the end of the qualified period, for non-payment or if proof of other coverage is provided
