Welcome Message

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Capistrano Unified School District Early Childhood Programs! Here in CUSD, we are committed to providing a high quality educational program which enhances the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child. Our Early Childhood Programs consist of infant programs, preschool programs, and Transition Kindergarten (TK). Our ECP also includes both general education and special educations programs. Across the District, last school year we served over 2,000 students, with our programs at 26 elementary school sites. For the 2023-24 school year we will have 2 Learning Links, 2 Early Start programs, 42 preschool classrooms, and 38 TK classrooms (for a total of 84 early childhood classrooms!). We are proud to serve our youngest learners!

We believe that each family brings to our program important values and diversity. Therefore, we recognize the importance of forming a partnership with parents to create a positive experience for all children. We appreciate the ongoing collaboration with our families, as we work together for the benefit of our students. We encourage our families to connect with their teachers, be a par of the classroom when possible, and to take part in their child's learning experience.

Regardless of which program your child may be enrolled in, our Early Childhood Program believes in providing a high quality, nurturing, and supporting learning environment. We believe in providing learning experiences that promote the overall development of our students, and to help them reach their potential. Furthermore, we believe in providing equitable learning opportunities and experiences across our programs and various school sites. We have amazing teaching and support staff who are dedicated and committed to these values.

As we embark on the 2023-24 school year, we are excited for the wonderful moments and experiences ahead of us, in all of our programs!

Warm regards,
Lauren Pattullo, Ed.D.
